I am a communicator for God.

WHO I AM IN ONE SENTENCE:

I live to know God and make Him know by writing and then communicating what I write through video, radio & podcast, the web, books, and other speaking opportunities.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS SITE:

On this site I will provide quality written, audio, video and sermon content on a regular basis. I know your time is valuable, so I will not waste it with pointless things (unless I giving you something to laugh about – and laughing is never pointless).

I will blog about my main passions, which come from my main areas of responsibility in life:

THE BEST PART OF MY LIFE (besides Christ), MY FAMILY

I dated my wife (on and  off) over a 9 year period of time. It took a lot of pursuit, but I finally caught the woman of my dreams. She is my best friend. Molly married me in 2009. We have a son in 2010 and name him Chandler; he is a total stud and the best little chap a dad could ever wish for. Then in 2012 we had our little princess and named her Gracie. We think she is a princess, but she does even more so – she is a bit dotted on and she knows it. I love my family so much and believe that they are my first ministry.

MY PREACHING HISTORY

I started preaching around 7 or 8 years old and it didn’t take long for this love of mine to turn into a life-long calling. Communicating biblical truth is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I strive to live and preach God’s truth through whatever means possible to as many people as possible. I have been privileged to ministered to audiences around the globe as a Christian illusionist, and speaker since I was 15 years. I was junior in High School when the Columbine Tragedy happened in my home town. At the time I was leading a ministry called Revival Generation that allowed me to preach the gospel in all sorts of venues and through all types of media.

Over the past 15 years I’ve been preaching to churched and unchurched crowds. I’m continually humbled by the experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve been able to meet. Some of the highlights of my preaching ministry have been speaking for Youth For Christ at DCLA,  the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Creation Festivals and many other conferences, camps and retreats. There are few things I enjoy more in this life than speaking to people on behalf of God – no matter the size of the crowd.

MY CHURCH HISTORY

I attended Moody Bible Institute to deepen his understanding of God’s Word. After doing so, I was able to serve on the pastoral staff at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. I then moved back to Colorado to marry my wife and become the Associate Pastor of Colorado Community Church in Englewood, Colorado. I recently served as the Lead Pastor of Creekside Bible Church in Centennial, Colorado. In April of 2012 I joined the Mission Hills staff and will be serving as the Discipleship Pastor and on the preaching team.

MY BOOKS

Dad, If You Only Knew…: Eight Things Teens Want to Tell Their Fathers (but Don’t)

As exasperating as parenting can be during these volatile years, your teen is depending on you for steady faithfulness, love, and guidance. And because teens often find words elusive and expression difficult, they probably haven’t told you the things they wish you somehow automatically knew. So let Dad, If You Only Knew… be your guide. Josh Weidmann, just out of the teen years himself, joins his father, James, to help dads understand where their kids are coming from. It’s a messy world they live in, and meeting them in it is no simple task. But knowing these essentials now makes fatherhood eight times easier! You can see Josh speak about the content of this book here.

Honest to God: Becoming Brutally Honest With A Gracious God

Is hypocrisy eroding your trust in relationships, the church, or even yourself? We long to know there is a God – and, yes, a community – who is big enough to accept us for who we are and loving enough not to leave us that way. Imagine how our relationships and witness would change if Christians everywhere began to live in a more authentic manner. Throughout the Bible, we find heroes of the faith who lived with daring, messy honesty before God and others–their example is worth emulating. Honest to God is a practical and riveting study of biblical honesty. You can see Josh speak about the content of this book here.

MY MINISTRY PARTNERS

Mission Hills Church is my home church. I am privileged to be the Discipleship Pastor there and on the preaching team.

MY POSTS THAT I WISH YOU WOULD READ
