A friend of mine, Isaac Slade (of the Fray), and his wife Anna, recorded this wonderful hymn originally by George Matheson. Set in an old church in Denver, they were able to capture this hymn in a beautiful unique way with a piano, cello and violin. As they searched for a hymn to record they found this one – “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go” – through the suggestion of Anna’s mother. I already had a deep affection for the words and history of this hymn, but the Slade’s recording has made me fall in love with it all over again.
